Pierre Paulin 1st Generation Leather ‘Butterfly’ Lounge Chair for Artifort, 1963

An early and uncommon Model F675 ‘Butterfly’ lounge chair designed by Pierre Paulin and manufactured by Artifort. This 1st generation example was produced right around 1963. This striking, eye-catching design features a geometric nickel-pated wire frame, with thick leather seat and back slings. featuring beautiful hand-stitched elements. The leather slings also show absolutely stunning cosmetic patina. The black, sheeny leather has faded to a lovely warm brown in some areas and some harmless, cosmetic crackling along the wrapped edges adds tons of charm. The nickel-plated has lovely light, even oxidation throughout. The chair is perfectly broken in and totally sturdy. This is truly a perfect collectors example with all the beautiful patina and original elements, and without any issues. Just stunning original vintage condition. These chairs never had permanent labels on them, so there is no label, however we can guarantee the authenticity of this piece.
