Vintage Design
The French ceramist René Maurel’s work is renowned for being singular and unique in the post-war Ceramic School of Vallauris. This strangely shaped bowl or dish features an almost Graphically appearing waiter highlighted with enamel glazes and enhanced with his typical sgraffito technic. A Technique which probably had a great influence on one of his more famous guest, François Raty who made his first steps as a ceramist in Maurel’s workshop in Tourettes Sur Loup in the early fifties. The piece is signed by hand by the signature. Measurements: H: 11.5, L: 20, D: 8.5 cm.
