Vintage Design
Excellent pair of Empire candlesticks with female caryatids made of gilded bronze in the style of Claude Galle ( 1758-1815): on wide flat round base standing conical candlestick shaft with three female busts à la Grècque with corresponding pairs of feet on the base. The heads of the caryatids support the cylindrical-oil candle spout decorated with godrons with removable drip tray. Stem with fine latticework guilloché. Very fine chasing, excellent matte and bright gilding. The pair of Empire candlesticks follows a model by the famous bronze maker Claude Galle, which he made for the Chateau Fontainebleau in 1804.
