This is an antique helmet scuttle. An English copper fireside coal or log bucket, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1870. Presented in very good antique condition.

Nicely patinated copper with fine weathering and subdued hues
Dressed with rotating hoop handle and smaller, brass rear handle with shaped backing plate
Raised upon tapered pedestal mount with subtle rolled edge
This is an appealing, eye-catching antique coal scuttle and suitable for coal, kindling or firewood. Solid joints and construction, delivered polished and ready for the fireside.
