Vintage Design
The French factory in Aubusson is famous both for the production of wall tapestries and for the weaving of beautiful floor rugs. Both of these textiles, always of high quality, were destined to complete the sumptuous furnishings of villas and palaces of the Parisian aristocracy. As with tapestries, rug cartoons were also designed by the best artists of the time, according to the dictates of the most fashionable style of the moment. The specimen that we propose with measures from palace, is of the first half of the 800. This beautiful building in excellent condition has particularly soft colors and a decoration that, despite its richness, appears sober and refined, characteristic of this typical style of Louis Philippe (1830/1850). The uniform tobacco background is decorated with garlands and flowers of various shapes. In the center a basket with a cascade of flowers. The rich border contains 4 scrolls with noble coats of arms.
