1949 Herend Porcelain World Congress Trade Unions Urn

It is clearly marked on the underside with the Herend mark used in 1949, an impressed HEREND and incised shape number 6660. According to Herend, this pattern was custom painted, only in the year 1949, specifically for that year’s World Congress of Trade Unions. It depicts a porcelain worker standing in front of a factory on one side. The other side is decorated with a globe surrounded by a ribbon of flags stemming from Hungary. A lengthy text inscription on the bottom front reads as follows: A szakszervezetek harmadik világkongresszusának a Herendi Porcelángyár dolgozóitól (For the third World Congress of Trade Unions from the employees of Herend Porcelain Factory). An historic, unique, museum quality piece. Inscription rubbing and minor imperfections as shown.
