1939 New York World’s Fair Art Deco Platter or Cake Plate

An American Art Deco souvenir platter or cake plate from the 1939-1940 New York World’s Fair produced by The Cronin China Company of Minerva, Ohio (1934-1956) for the National Brotherhood of Operative Potters Exhibit. Featuring a crisp and colorful transfer-printed decoration of the fair’s iconic Trylon and Perisphere structures on a pale ground of creamy-white with gilt accents around the border and handles.Good condition with uniform, age-appropriate crazing overall, a little gilt wear, and several small scuffs/fine scratches. Fully marked on the base, measuring just over 10.5 in width (at handles).
