Vintage Design
Exceptional gilt bronze mantel clock with its key depicting a winged Cupid in a chariot. The chariot is pulled by two doves that are resting on a platform adorned with water-leaf. The body of the clock is shaped like a vase, which contains the white enamel dial. Roman numerals mark the hours and Arabic numerals mark the minutes. Small beads, palmettes and lattice frame the face of the clock. It is flanked by two admirably sculpted storks holding flowering garlands and resting on a base decorated with water-leaf. A bow, arrows, and two leafy branches decorate the front part of the base which rests on four flattened-ball feet. Original clockwork in working condition.
