Gilt bronze mounted tortoise shell and brass inlaid Boulle centre table. Late 19th Century early 20th century. Exquisitely detailed Jean-Jacques Boulle centre table with gilt bronze mounts and edging three drawers to the front and blank or dummy drawers to the back. The centre piece enameled cartouche for the entrance to a secret drawer opened by a button beneath. Four gilt bronze masks atop the each of the four legs with gilt bronze bracket feet and Ebony bordering. Jean-Jacques Boulle was commissioned to design and make furniture for Versaille. So this would have been a copy of his design.
